Having built a fierce reputation as an exciting live band, gaining placements across national radio and Spotify editorial playlists, Mouth Culture deliver once more on the growing hype surrounding them with the release of their explosive new single ‘Don’t Pull Up’.

A streamlined yet still expressive, urgent and high-octane soundscape, ‘Don’t Pull Up’ is a prime example of the bands ability to balance infectious, ear-worm melodies with intense tight guitar led alt-rock soundscapes. Demonstrating the bands tight rhythms, the same energetic togetherness the trio demonstrate in their live sets, ‘Don’t Pull Up’ accelerates it’s way through the verse as the distorted guitar and bass remained locked tight together with huge, punching drums that tastefully yet effectively emphasise choppy gaps with tight drum fills.

Despite the intense, unsettled nature of the instrumentation the lead vocals glide above the soundscape with a sense of ease, floating elegantly into the subtly etherial pre-chorus and exploding into the growling delivery of the chorus. Giant production by Jamie Ward helps to further emphasise the stadium worthy sound the band are capable of whilst retaining subtle moments and allowing the melodic elements to shine with subtle vocal harmonies outlining the main melody throughout.

Speaking about the track, the band explains: “Don’t Pull Up is a straightforward head-bop anthem, saturated with attitude. The verses carry mischievous energy through a chest-punching bassline and provocative vocals, as the chorus explodes into a seismic release of soaring guitars with an electrifying presence.

The song was written in an evening of heightened emotion following the abrupt and unexpected departure of one of our band members. In the midst of the chaos, the looming question of ‘what now?’ injected passion and authenticity into the track, cementing the message as well as the connection between us – that no matter the hurdle, we can still write music that sonically and lyrically represents us.”

A stunning effort from a band surely set for big things, Mouth Culture are most certainly one to keep an eye on!
