There’s always been something restless at the core of Bleachers, a sense that even their most euphoric moments are chasing something just out of reach. On new single ‘dirty wedding dress’, that tension tightens into something messier, more intimate, like confetti swept up the morning after the party.
Led by Jack Antonoff, the band’s latest release lands as the second glimpse into their forthcoming fifth album everyone for ten minutes, due May 22 via Dirty Hit. If previous single ‘you and forever’ felt like a widescreen declaration, this new track pulls closer, rumpled and reflective, trading clean lines for emotional spillage.
That duality runs through the record itself. Framed as the culmination of a lifetime spent orbiting bands, everyone for ten minutes finds Bleachers stretching their sound without losing the pulse that defines them. There are flickers of darkness, sure, but they’re threaded through something warmer, a record that feels lovestruck, hopeful, and occasionally overwhelmed by its own sincerity. Folk-leaning harmonies bleed into pop-soul textures, before giving way to the sax-laced New Jersey glow that has become Antonoff’s signature.
It’s a continuation of a run that has quietly turned Bleachers into one of modern indie’s most reliable emotional engines. From Strange Desire through to their self-titled 2024 release, the band have built a catalogue that thrives on connection, both on record and onstage. Their last world tour closed with a career-defining headline show at Madison Square Garden, a reminder that these songs are built to be shared at scale.
That momentum rolls straight into the next chapter. With a North American tour set for June through October, including a five-night residency in Los Angeles, Bleachers are once again leaning into the communal rush of live performance. If ‘dirty wedding dress’ is anything to go by, this era won’t be about perfection. It’ll be about what’s left behind when the moment passes, and what still lingers anyway.
