YOU WILL probably remember Azita as a quiet singer-songwriter, but nine years have passed since her last release, so a new, rockier style in Lou Reed’s guise is not too surprising in the end. To be honest, her last album, Year, had already started to drift away from her initial chamber-folk style.
The Iranian-American songwriter announces, with “Online Life”, a new album, out in March on Drag City. Glen Echo has quite a short tracklist with relatively long tracks, which in Azita’s style, often indulging in extensive multi-instrumental explorations. As always, she plays all instruments in the album.
