Track: Brendan Benson – Dear Life

Taken from his recent album of the same name, “Dear Life” is Brendan Benson’s third track to be released via Third Man Records.

After the synthetic feel of “Good To Be Alive”, “Dear Life” follows “Richest Man”, and finds Benson back on familiar territory with his unique indie sound. An acoustic guitar keeps things together but the track is full of little touches of a master songwriter.

Electric guitar and synths decorate the track, which is topped off with that unique, reedy Benson voice, which always sounds full of hope and joy, regardless of what he is singing about. Give it a couple of spins and you will be singing it all day.

Benson has also announced a new weekly live stream series called “Off The Road With Brendan Benson,” which will air on Thursdays at 10:20pm BST via his YouTube Channel, starting today. Today’s episode will consist of side A of Dear Life. Fans can count on future episodes consisting of performances of songs from a certain album, answering fan questions, or taking a tour through the creative process.
