Track: Charlotte Gainsbourg – Sylvia Says (Tensnake remix) plus tour news.

The legendary and multi-talented Charlotte Gainsbourg has just release a scorching version of her song ‘Sylvia Says’, remixed by German DJ and producer Tensnake. The song is off her most recent album, ‘Rest’ and as a result of the remix is a Giorgio Moroder-type euro disco blast with Gainsbourg’s ethereal vocals skating across the bubbling surface.

Like the album itself, the single has all the hallmarks of Gainsbourg’s studied poetry and panache coupled with an insanely danceable undercurrent:

You can get the single here.

Released on November 17 through Because Music, Charlotte Gainsbourg’s album ‘Rest” like her previous albums, is a brilliant work featuring collaborations with Sir Paul McCartney, Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Connan Mockasin and Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire, Caribou).

For the uninitiated, Gainsbourg was the child of the iconic French poet, musician and raconteur Serge Gainsbourg and British actor Jane Birkin. She infamously began her music career at the age of 12 in the controversial Gainsbourg song ‘Lemon”, then releasing a full album – ‘Charlotte Forever’ – with her father a few years later. She has since forged her own career in acting and music, most notably in Lars Von Trier movies and collaborating with musicians like Jarvis Cocker and Paul McCartney.

Gainsbourg is on tour and you can get tickets here.
