Backseat Mafia’s Celtic punks, Ferocious Dog, have shared their brand single ‘Sus Laws’, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Kleptocracy’ due on the 17th of May via Graphite Records. the track was chosen as it encapsulates the unyielding spirit of resistance against oppression, the theme of the album. Plus, the chorus is a banger to sing along with.

Singer Ken Bonsall comments:

“I got the inspiration from the classic Linton Kwesi Johnson song ‘Sonny’s Lettah’ and the discrimination shown to people invited to the UK for work, where it was the norm to state No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish.

I see hate and division raising its ugly head again in the UK since the Brexit vote, which is condoned by this far right government and police laws being changed to assist in discrimination. A good friend of mine gave me a T shirt for my birthday with the writing on it MORE BLACKS MORE DOGS MORE IRISH and after I’d thanked him I said “I’m going to write a song with these lyrics in” and the rest is history as they say.”

Starting all traditional that Ferocious Dog swagger soon bursts free and we are hit by frantic fiddling and rampaging chords all topped by Ken Bonsall’s powerful voice for freedom. It’s good to be in a world where Ferocious Dog want to create music like this.
