Hannah Wicklund has shared the video for her new single ‘Hell In The Hallway’, taken from her forthcoming album ‘The Prize’ which is due out on the 12th of January via Flatiron Recordings/Strawberry Moon Records.

Written by Hannah Wicklund and Stevie Aiello (of 30 Seconds to Mars), ‘Hell In The Hallway’, tells a story of perseverance and strength through defying the twisted whispers spoken by snakes. When one door closes, another one opens, but there’s always Hell in the Hallway. To create the video, Wicklund and director Jason Lee Denton used a dozen pieces of her art to bring the world of The Prize to life.

Regarding the video Wicklund says,

“Each song I’ve released thus far is represented inside this video. We start in the courtyard of the castle, the visual aid for ‘Witness’, which leads us to the checkerboard hallway for ‘Hell in the Hallway’, taking us then through the maze of ‘Hide and Seek’, the first single off of the record. The bridge of the song then brings us to a more atmospheric moment, where my mandalas and patterns take over. I see this as a moment of clarity, where what you value most in life becomes clear.

“Drawing those mandalas and pattern pieces have always served as a meditative practice for me; a chance to sit with myself. The remainder of the video is then us backing out of the deep, dark parts of the castle, reclaiming control, and making our way back through the front door, leading us to the water’s edge with the ‘Lost Love’ painting, finally zooming all the way out and showing us ‘The Prize’.”

A powerful slab of driven sonic emotion that is bursting with soulful vocals, stinging guitar work and glorious production.
