Electronic producer and songwriter Heijmat shares the infectiously catchy and beautifully crafted new single ‘Where Will It Take Us,’ taken from the hotly anticipated debut EP Lost & Found.

Known for his successful career producing for renowned Dutch artists, Heijmat’s solo venture into alternative-electronic music has generated significant buzz and anticipation. Now back with one of his most immediately accessible and commercial works to date, amplified by the addition of sultry guest vocals from MRYN, ‘Where Will It Take Us’ gives an exciting taste of the soundscapes that can be expected across the full upcoming EP release.

Driven by a pulsating four-to-the-floor beat, the track’s swelling synths and intricate production shine as silky MRYN’s vocals glide elegantly above. The track successfully balances its euphoric and danceable instrumentation with the melancholy of the vocal performance to create a piece with immersive sonic depth.

Talking about the track, Huub (the brain behind Heijmat) explains: “‘Where Will It Take Us?’ We started with the desire to create a melancholic dance track. After hearing MRYN’s voice coming from one of the other rooms in my studio—complex, I decided to ask her to take on vocal duties. Her first draft was a perfect fit melodically, and we worked on the lyrics and the rest of the melody together.

After a few changes in productional direction, I landed in this melancholic yet energetic sonic landscape that is ‘Where Will It Take Us.’”

Navigating the intersections of IDM and commercial melodies, Heijmat hits a balance on ‘Where Will It Take Us,’ showcasing the more commercial side of his sound as he prepares to release the full upcoming EP.
