Enigmatic, cinematic-soul scenesters The Pro-Teens have just dropped new single Peachfuzz, with 7″ single Peachfuzz/ One Beer coming on 26 November and a hint at a full-length MF DOOM tribute album to come in 2022 (via College Of Knowledge Records). With prolific drummer Hudson Whitlock (Karate Boogaloo, Surprise Chef) at the helm, this breakaway studio project features an interchangeable collective of incognito instrumentalists who play under outlandish pseudonyms such as Dead Honest, Dean Amazing and Libby Clique-Baite.

Long-standing devotees of the metallic villain DOOM, The Pro-Teens have reimagined the KMD classic Peachfuzz and MM..FOOD standout One Beer. This 7″ single follows breakout album I Flip My Life Every Time I Fly, a recent BBC 6 Music’s Album Of The Day, and a smoothly exciting precursor for a forthcoming, full-length MF DOOM tribute album.

Peachfuzz comes from KMD’s first album Mr Hood, and sees The Pro-Teens take on the uptempo marimba-laced funk of the original beat that DOOM produced under his first moniker MC Zev Love X, paying respect to the early years of DOOM’s career. One Beer, a standout track from his MM..FOOD album, sees the Teens dive deep into the track’s sample, French group Cortex’s Huit Octobre 1971.

The Pro-Teens – Peachfuzz / One Beer will be available digitally and on 7” vinyl via College Of Knowledge Records on November 26, distributed by College Of Knowledge (Australia) and London’s Kudos Records (ROW). Pre-order here!
