Boorloo/Perth based rising stars Joan & The Giants have returned with what feels like their most vulnerable release yet, ‘Feels Like Heartache’ – click to stream.

‘Feels Like Heartache’ opens with soft, intimate guitar strums, setting a delicate stage for lead singer Grace Newton-Wordsworth’s emotive vocals to gently unfold. The track slowly burns into a swirling mix of emotion and turmoil, enveloping into a bittersweet symphony of heartache.

Grace shares a bit behind the track:

“‘Feels like Heartache’ is the most deeply personal and honest song we’ve written. It’s centred around longing for the person you love more than anything but knowing it’s an addiction and isn’t good for you. Being brutally honest isn’t easy, but honesty to us is a very important thing, especially in our songwriting.”

Despite all the band’s highs in 2024, Grace and guitarist Aaron Birch have also navigated their 9-year relationship through their musical journey.

Aaron Birch shares:

“We wrote this song in the midst of a chaotic storm and it was a cathartic way of saying how we felt about stepping away from each other.”

2024 has seen the band experience their biggest year yet, recieving overwhelming support for their two singles, ‘Good Time‘ and ‘Born In The Wrong Time‘, before performing alongside superstars P!NK and Tones and I in Optus Stadium in March.

‘Feels Like Heartache’ is available to stream worldwide now.
