With eleven full-length records under their belts, Swedish melancholic metal masters Katatonia return with their 12th album, the hauntingly beautifully titled ‘Sky Void of Stars’, due the 20th of January 2023 via Napalm Records.  The band have shared the video for the second single and the album opener ‘Austerity’.

The band comments:

“We hereby present you our new single and the opening track of Sky Void of Stars – ‘Austerity’. Energetic and dark, stern and disenchanted. Enjoy.”

A striking and haunting track led by the captivating vocals of Jonas Renkse’s and Daniel Moilanen’s thunderous drums. The track has a cinematic feel to it as it flows through its various stages, from dark pounding verses to the dramatic choruses mixed with some guitar wizardry and a chilled interlude. The ability to create rock tracks like this that verge on Prog is why Kataonia are held in such high regard for their songwriting.
