Toronto/LA-based artist, Louie Short has shared his new single, ‘Sweeter Than Clover’ which is taken from his forthcoming second record, Omw 4ev, due 12th November via 444%.
The new single finds its story in a walk that Short – who was ill at the time – and his girlfriend took when she told him of the healing power of a clover. “I was taking a walk and feeling ill until my girlfriend showed me you can eat the petals off clover flowers and they’re sweet,” explains Short. “I found this VERY interesting and I ate tons of them.”
One listen and the infectious nature of Short’s voice has you hooked straight away. The chunky bass and moody picked guitar add to this infectious sound as the song turns sweeter with each added instrument. Adorable snippets of honky tonk piano and violin with some gorgeous backing vocals give an eclectic mixture that gets better with each listen.
