Maribou State, the duo comprising Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, are set to release their first original production since 2018’s critically acclaimed album ‘Kingdoms in Colour’ on Ninja Tune. It comes as their contribution to the ‘Fabric presents….’ series from the legendary London club of the same name. ‘Mother’ is the second single from ‘fabric presents Maribou State’
From the vinyl crackle at the beginning through the syncopated synths to the cymbal crashing jam style ending. It’s nothing short of brilliant. “It’s our interpretation of some of the sounds we’ve heard at the club over the years, stretching back to our time there as teenagers.”
They achieved what they set out for as this track takes you all the way back to the glory days of the night club. You can feel the heat and mass of bodies and sense the excitement. Its like an entire night in one tune.
