Aria award winning artist Miiesha has released a new track ‘Everything’. Miiesha who won Song of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards for her single ‘Damaged’ has also announced the release of her ‘Mirrors’ EP which is set to be released on 3 June as a double EP alongside the already released ‘Smoke’ EP. The EPs were both written performed and recorded by Miiesha, Stephen Collins and LUCIANBLOMKAMP.

Miiesha will also be heading off on some eagerly anticipated debut headline tour dates, starting off with a show in Sydney as part of Vivid, before heading to Brisbane and then on to Melbourne. This will be followed up with her debut performance at Splendour in the Grass. The Sydney Morning Herald has recommended Miiesha as one of the gigs not to miss at the Vivid festival this year.

Miiesha is an Anangu/Torres Strait Islander woman, she released her debut collection of songs entitled Nyaaringu in 2020. Meaning ‘what happened’ in Pitjantjatjara language, Nyaaringu showcased the stories and the strength Miiesha has inherited from her late Grandmother, whose interludes narrate the project.

Miiesha ‘Everything’

The new track features Miiesha’s sublime understated vocals over a sinuous R&B beat. The understated lyrics demonstrate Miiesha’s uncanny ability to give the listener an insight into her soul.

“Everything” was written at a point in my life when I wanted to give up on music; when singing felt hurtful because it was the only way I expressed myself. I was in a dark headspace, and I felt like everything was out of reach and the pain was endless. So the song is me, reminding myself, that we could have everything. I know it’s hard right now but keep going.”
