Hailing originally from Western Australia’s gorgeous Margaret River region, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Ro has just released a delightful, whimsical debut single called “Diary” that wearily expounds her desire to let her lover read her diary to see what she really thinks. Ro explains:

“The chorus has a bit of irony, because I don’t actually recommend giving your diary to your loved ones. It’s just, one can get exasperated when it’s hard to find the right words to say. The point is, you’re trying… But hey, also, wouldn’t it be awesome to just hand your diary over to someone and get the ‘this is me’ part over and done with? Maybe it’s a shitty life hack, but it’s a life hack nonetheless.”

Ro has a breathy, melodic style infused with a delightful self-deprecating wit:

It is refreshing to hear such melodic pop infused with an endearing sense of humour, and I look forward to hear what’s next.

The song is available through all online sources now, and you can catch Ro live in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane in July and August the following venues:

July 3 – The Workers Club, Melbourne
July 8 – The Junk Bar, Brisbane
Aug 3 – The Newsagency, Sydney

She has accompanied the single with an amusing set diary entries which can be followed on her Facebook page.
