As part of Slumberland records 30th anniversary, the label have recently launched the SLR30 Subscription Series, featuring 12 singles to be released over the course of the year, the final installment being planned for the labels actual birthday in December.
Out on June 28th, is Bay Area’s band Smiles second 7″ – Gone For Good, following in the footsteps of releases from the likes of The Suncharms, Rat Columns, Dolly Dream and David Callaghan. If you like you’re with a healthy dose of Teenage Fanclub and more than a nod at Big Star (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?) then you’re gonna love Gone For Good just as much as we did. And frankly, we almost floated off. Chorus’ that deal equally in melody and melancholy always do it for us, and throw in the harmonies and jangly guitars and this is just about the best thing so far 2019 has offered.
