Taken from his first album in 30 years, Sonic Boom – aka Peter Kember (Spectrum, Spacemen 3) has released The Way You Live, with the album, All Things Being Equal, out on Carpark Record on June 5th.
More well known recently in his role as a producer for the likes of Beach House and Panda Bear, the project has been ongoing since 2015, and was nearly released as an instrumental project, before as Kember says , “ the vibe in them was so strong that I couldn’t resist trying to ice the cake.”
The Way You Live is this immediately attractive mass of layered synths, with his own disfigured vocals on top. It’s almost like the waves of synths engulf you completely, such is the emotional power Peter Kember is able to command.
