Track: The Goa Express take off with the shimmering track ‘Second Time’ and announces tour

Last year, The Goa Express released a gorgeous track ‘Be My Friend’ – a shouty, slightly snotty and utterly endearing post-punk blast of energy – and this year follow up with a shimmering and melodic ‘Second Time’. This is classic indie pop – jangling, sparkling guitars and an air of wistfulness.

Again mixed by the legendary Mark Gardener from Ride, the song is a gentle flowing stream that seems to resonate with emotion. The band says of the track:

Second Time is a song about young people making the same mistakes over and over and over again; a warming ballad which breaks aside from our live performances, foolishly thinking, that it’s able to mend itself.

The result is something quite delicate and hauntingly beautiful. The poignant video captures the band’s from their roots in Burnley and Todmorden to Manchester and was directed by Mairead O’Connor and shot by Andy Little:

‘Second Time’ is out through Ra-Ra Rok Records and you can download/stream here or pre-order a special edition 7″ single below:
