Norwegian black metallers Thokkian Vortex, fronted by Lord Kaiaphas, the former vocalist of Norwegian black metal act Ancient, just unveiled the official video for the song ‘The Wreathing Serpent’ taken from their latest album ‘Thy Throne is Mine’ released on February 28th 2020 via Non Serviam Records.
The band comments: “‘The Wreathing Serpent’ is a black metal ode to the dark primordial deity of the sea, Leviathan, in female form. It features dissonant and minor chords and a shredding guitar solo by Mantus (Patria/Mysteriis/Le Chant Noir)”.
Slow and dirty picked guitar work with some rather un metal drums but some very black metal vocals. All together they create a surreal yet enjoyable track with no muddied production. Each instrument has a rightful place in the mix.
