Ahead of his upcoming album ‘Heaven to a tortured mind’, out via the ever brilliant Warp Records label on April 3rd, Yves Tumor has released a new single – Kerosene, featuring guest vocals from singer-songwriter Diana Gordon.
The song has something of the 90s about it, with its insistent organ figure and echoey guitar figures. Over the top Tumor does his best Prince alongside Gordon taking the Sheena E (maybe more fleeting muse Sinead O’Connor) part, in this alt-funk/indie cut, with rattlingly good guitar solos as it opens up, and the sort of instantly accessible melodies that emanated from Paisley Park all those years ago.
