Fronted by Adrien Leprêtre, Eclectic French outfit Samba De La Muerte have returned with their brand new track ‘We Head For’, taken from the upcoming album ‘Ornament’ due the 29th of September.

Following on from the recent singles ‘Ornament’ and ‘Memory’, ‘We Head For’ continues Samba De La  Muerte’s musical evolution, deftly combining a myriad of styles from pop, jazz, folk, reggae and electronica, the sound shimmers seamlessly and delivers all the arresting art-pop pomp you expect.

Adrien explains:

“‘We Head For’ is a hymn to peace and solidarity, imagined as a rallying cry. The track tells us about the quest for an inclusive world, devoid of all forms of discrimination. This track took five years to come into being. It was almost on the previous album, but it took us a long time to find its final form. The basic idea was the bass riff, but then we couldn’t come up with the verses. After a lot of searching, we finally turned to one of the first demos, in which the intention was just perfect. I wanted that dub rock vibe like The Police, but without losing the Samba De La Muerte identity.”

Dirty grooves, golden synths and hypnotic vocals this is possibly your new favourite track. It is mine. The whole track has an airy space quality to it and a backbone that grabs hold as the swirling rhythms float you off to another world. I for one am glad Samba De La Muerte keep making music.
