Manchester’s Loose Articles are a 4-piece melodic post-punk outfit specialising in discord, repetition and radical politics. They describe themselves as feminine, threatening, working and class, with a passion for Stella Artois!
They were lined up to play their biggest ever gig last summer, supporting the Foo Fighters at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, but the tragic death of Taylor Hawkins put paid to that. Recent festival appearances, including a stellar set at Bearded Theory last month, has seen the girls widen their fan base. Established in 2019 because they wanted to “make music because we wanted to prove a point that women can do it just as well as men. It became the first inspiration, then we realised we’re pretty alright at it, so now we’re doing it for us and having a right laugh with it.”
