It was a packed Saturday night at The Factory Theatre, the air thick with anticipation and beer-soaked nostalgia. Fans of all ages crowded shoulder-to-shoulder — some who’d grown up with Leaving Home on the radio, others discovering Jebediah for the first time — all gathered to celebrate thirty years of one of Australia’s most enduring rock bands. The Perth quartet’s THIRTY ODYEARS Tour had rolled into Sydney, bringing with it a mix of history, humour and unfiltered heart.
Opening the night were Downgirl, the Sydney femme-punk four-piece known for their fierce energy and explosive stage presence. Their set was a burst of distortion and attitude — a perfect prelude to the celebration that followed. Downgirl’s sharp-edged performance cut through the room, laying down the kind of raw electricity that defines the Australian live scene right now.
Then came Jebediah, stepping into the spotlight as if no time had passed at all. The Perth veterans celebrated three decades of friendship, six albums, and the same lineup they started with in 1995. The gig was equal parts reunion, reflection, and revival — a reminder of how deeply their songs are woven into the fabric of Australian rock.
