Sappho entranced the audience at the Vanguard with her show last night. Part Kate Bush, part Madonna, she hit the stage with a cover of Jamiroquai’s Cosmic Girl. Backed by four vocalists who also joined in as dancers, it was all swinging pearls and dancing girls as Sappho dazzled the crowd with her funky, upbeat pop.
