In a mesmerising showcase of entrancing rhythm and atmospheric trap beats, America’s rising star, Destroy Lonely, took centre stage at Sydney/Eora’s Enmore Theatre last night. The eagerly anticipated event marked the premiere Sydney headline show for Bobby Wardell Sandimanie III, professionally known as Destroy Lonely, as he treated Australian fans to an unforgettable night of music and spectacle. The occasion also served as the unveiling of his latest studio album, ‘If Looks Could Kill’.

Destroy Lonely, a multifaceted artist excelling as both a rapper and singer-songwriter, has been carving out his niche in the American music scene. The buzz surrounding his talent intensified with the release of his debut studio album in May 2023, following the success of his fifth mixtape, ‘No Stylist’, in 2022. Notably signed with Playboi Carti’s Opium label, Destroy Lonely has become a force to be reckoned with.

The electrifying evening kicked off with Destroy Lonely bounding onto the stage to the unreleased single ‘Sex and Drugs’. This captivating introduction set the tone for the night as the artist seamlessly moved through his discography, highlighting tracks from ‘If Looks Could Kill’ and revisiting hits from his acclaimed 2022 album release, ‘No Stylist’.

Fans eagerly extended their arms towards the stage whenever Destroy Lonely approached, capturing the electrifying moments with a sea of recording iPhones that somehow enhanced the overall aesthetic. The atmosphere crackled with excitement, mirroring the artist’s dynamic and infectious stage presence.

Destroy Lonely proved to be an exceptionally enthusiastic and dynamic performer, refusing to remain stationary for even a second. The stage became his playground, and his constant movement visually engaged the audience. In a moment that could have disrupted the flow, when a water bottle was hurled at him, Destroy Lonely not only maintained his composure but reciprocated with a smile and a defiant finger gesture.

The fashion showcased by the concert-goers is something to be mentioned as it echoed modern urban and streetwear culture, adding an extra layer of edge to the night. The crowd exuded a vibrant energy that underscored their collective appreciation for the intense and immersive sonic experience curated by Destroy Lonely.

Destroy Lonely’s debut headline show at Enmore Theatre was a triumphant celebration of his artistry, showcasing not only his musical prowess but also his ability to command the stage with charisma and stamina. The event left an indelible impression on Australian fans who were fortunate enough to witness the magic unfold live.
