Out digitally via the legendary Defected Records on November 30th is the new single from Italian producer/DJ, Francesco ‘Phra’ Barbaglia, aka Crookers. He’s already released records on labels such as Southern Fried and Mad Descent, and he returns to a Defected for his new released Withdrawals, for which he’s enlisted the vocals talents of WILLS.
Right from the off, with this wonky synth and driving bass, it’s dancefloor gold, with Wills breathy, soulful delivery immediately catching the ear. As it begins to unravel, so more bubbling synths are added, and this tight percussion in the background continues to coax it along. More developed in traditional song form than some house records, its actually something rather special.
