Adelaide indie rock & rollers, Bad//Dreems have unleashed their latest single onto the internet and airwaves, and it sees the band doing what they know best…..belting out at full throttle. The song is largely built around frontman and lead vocalist, Ben Marwe letting fly with a chain of thought that is underpinned by the slashing pace of the supporting guitars and drums. Lyrically, Marwe sprays out a virtual cornucopia of seemingly unrelated one-liners, but I feel these are collectively summed up when he closes out the song with the burning line “order and chaos…..see you tomorrow”!

Bad//Dreems have built their reputation around a maximum-velocity, no-holds-barred approach to live performance (read my live review from October of last year here). See You Tomorrow perfectly mirrors the same kind of frenetic energy that goes into each and every live performance of the band. It is short, sharp and furious, mesmerizing you with its’ maniacal delivery before making you feel like you have been struck by a runaway train.

The accompanying clip was filmed on a farm in the rural suburb of Glenorie, NSW by young director Kaius Potter. The film clip draws on themes of cultural mockery through crafted visuals that are symbolic of dream-like theatrical installations. Shot by award winning cinematographer, Tyson Perkins, the clip dives headfirst into the irreverent themes put on offer by the lyrical content within the song.

This is exciting stuff……a real adrenaline-fuelled WTF?? moment from Bad//Dreems, and if this is just the beginning of what this album promises, then I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Hoo Ha! will be released on 19th May on Farmer & The Owl/BMG Records, and can be pre-ordered here.
