News: Buck Meek Invites Australia on a Journey Through Haunted Mountain next March

Buck Meek’s music inhabits space. As the lead guitarist of Big Thief and a poetic force in his own right, Meek isn’t concerned with spectacle but with presence. In March 2025, he’ll bring that distinct presence to Australia’s East Coast, guiding listeners through the weather-worn beauty and eerie stillness of Haunted Mountain, his third solo album. Meek’s songs feel like handwritten letters from faraway places, full of sparse yet tactile details—roses made of light, tiny crystal dewdrops, a field of dead lilies—that quietly bloom with each note.

This album was written by Buck as he ventured across mountains and ranges, from the cold springs in the Serra da Estrela of Portugal, to the submerged volcano of Milos in the Cyclades, and the Valle Onsernone in the Swiss Alps, through to the Santa Monica range the legendary singer/songwriter and magnificent guitarist now calls home.
