Tom Odell, the multi-platinum British singer and songwriter, has announced an additional and final performance at the Sydney Opera House on January 5, 2024, following overwhelming demand. These two performances, set in one of Australia’s most iconic venues, will mark Odell’s only Australian appearances. Both shows will feature The Metropolitan Orchestra, promising a unique musical experience blending Odell’s emotive songwriting with lush orchestral arrangements.

The announcement comes on the heels of the release of Black Friday, Odell’s latest album, which has been met with critical and fan acclaim. Its title track has garnered over 166 million streams on Spotify and amassed 2.75 billion views on TikTok. Following the album’s success, Odell embarked on his most extensive world tour to date in 2024, selling out venues across Europe, the UK, and North America.

“It has been a lifelong dream of mine to play at the Sydney Opera House and I’m beyond excited that it is finally happening in January. Performing with The Metropolitan Orchestra in such an iconic venue will be extremely special” – Tom Odell

On Black Friday, Odell stripped away the filters, revealing a startlingly vulnerable portrait of love, anxiety, and connection. Departing from the piano minimalism of Best Day of My Life, Odell recorded much of this album on a century-old guitar in his East London studio, aiming for an unpolished, conversational feel.

The title track, released in September, amassed millions of streams within hours, cementing Odell as one of Spotify’s top 100 artists. This follows the viral resurgence of his hit ‘Another Love,’ which exploded on TikTok in 2022.
