Redhill-born indie trio Canada Hill release the new single, ‘Little Maisonette’, a high-octane indie-rock fizzer, blending mid-sixties charm with late 00’s flair to create a sound which is playful and buoyant.
Leaning into a nostalgic power-pop soundscape, ‘Little Maisonette’ delivers explosive guitar riffs, bouncing bass grooves, and a driving backbeat that captures both a 00’s indie flare comparable to The Libertines and Vampire Weekend whilst nodding to a early Rolling Stones-esque sixties feel. Lyrically, the track explores the contrasts of modern life—navigating a world brimming with material abundance while longing for the minimal, stylish simplicity of days gone by.
“Little Maisonette came from daydreaming about the kind of life that feels almost old-fashioned now—a small home, a steady job, a dog, and a bit of peace,” the band explains. “It’s simple, but sometimes those things feel harder to reach than ever. I’ve always loved the British wit and everyday charm in bands like The Kinks, and that crept into the lyrics naturally. We tracked it in my home studio in Redhill, keeping things raw and playful, but with a chorus that really explodes. It’s a song about wanting less, not more—and finding joy in the idea of it.”
Since their 2024 debut single, Cling, Canada Hill have steadily built a colourful discography, amassing thousands of streams and captivating fans with tight harmonies and explosive live shows. With ‘Little Maisonette’, Canada Hill reaffirm themselves as one to watch.
