Riding the momentum of their self-titled EP released earlier this year, London-based band Good Time Locomotive return with their latest single, ‘Star’. The track arrives as the group’s bold next step in 2025, reaffirming their upward trajectory and growing reputation for vibrant, genre-blending music.
The band has once again raised the bar, collaborating with Grammy Award-winning mix engineer and producer Adrian Bushby—whose credits include Muse, Foo Fighters, and U2—for this latest release. ‘Star’ fuses funk-laced rock with emotionally charged lyrics, layering punchy rhythms and nostalgic synth textures to create a track designed for maximum energy and crowd engagement. The result is a sonically rich, dancefloor-ready anthem that balances introspection with tongue-in-cheek bravado.
Speaking about the track, the band shared, “This is a song definitely born out of the frustration of being an up-and-coming musician. All you really want is enough of a platform to be able to do music every day, but you have to sell yourself as a product for anyone to take notice of the thing that matters the most, the music! This song is a sarcastic take on that premadona rock star dream that, ironically, is what we all want.”
Good Time Locomotive officially formed in 2020 during the UK’s first COVID-19 lockdown, initially writing songs remotely via Zoom. Their debut single, ‘Lines of Symmetry’, arrived in spring 2023, quickly gaining traction on streaming platforms. Since then, the band has developed a reputation for infectiously positive live performances and a unique blend of alternative rock, funk, and pop influences.
