News: Double Major Returns with Debut Single ‘RKR’ – A Disco-Infused Nod to Heritage and Club Culture

Following his first appearances in 2023, Berlin-based artist Double Major has unveiled his official debut single, ‘RKR’, taken from his upcoming EP. The track marks a bold entry into the Nu-Disco space—one that Double Major is helping to shape within Pakistan’s evolving music scene.

‘RKR’ is a groove-driven cut, pulsing with retro flair and contemporary energy. Powered by a vibrant, percussive rhythm section, the single wastes no time establishing itself as a dancefloor contender. Its funk-leaning basslines and synth-laced textures provide a dynamic canvas for Double Major’s signature melodic hooks, delivering a sound both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

Speaking about the release, the artist comments, “I wanted to bring back the spirit of disco that was so present in the 70s and 80s in South Asia and combine it with the power of synth bass and dance music that Berlin is so deeply connected to. It is an attempt for me as an artist to reconnect with my Pakistani identity in the language, and create something new with that in combination with my growth as a musician here in Berlin.”

Born in Karachi and now working out of Berlin, Double Major is a producer and songwriter whose influences stretch from vintage disco and funk to contemporary rave and pop. His music often explores themes of love, identity, and emotional connection, designed with a clear intent to uplift, energise, and resonate on the dance floor.
