Cameron Winter is having quite the year. The Geese frontman has released his first live album, Live at Carnegie Hall, capturing his sold-out December 2025 performance at one of New York’s most celebrated concert venues.

One of the youngest solo artists to headline Carnegie Hall’s main auditorium, Winter strips things back to just himself and a piano, reworking material from his acclaimed debut solo album Heavy Metal. With his back to the audience, he takes familiar songs apart and puts them back together, allowing his unconventional vocals and restless songwriting to do the heavy lifting.

The album also features three previously unreleased compositions, It All Fell In The River, Emperor XIII In Shades and If You Turn Back Now, offering another glimpse into Winter’s increasingly unpredictable musical world.

Australian audiences have already had a taste of Winter’s singular approach to songwriting. Earlier this year, he performed at the Sydney Opera House, bringing his distinctive voice and offbeat musical sensibility to one of Australia’s most recognisable stages. Backseat Mafia caught Winter and his band Geese at Laneway festival this year.

The Carnegie Hall performance has also received the cinematic treatment. Filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson has directed Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall, a concert film shot on 35mm that recently premiered at the New York Film Festival, with both Winter and Anderson in attendance.

The film begins a limited American cinema tour on 20 November, with screenings scheduled at historic venues including Los Angeles’ Aero Theatre, San Francisco’s Castro Theatre and Chicago’s Music Box Theatre. International screening dates are yet to be announced.

Live at Carnegie Hall is out now via Partisan Records / Play It Again Sam, available digitally, on CD and vinyl.
