News: Inaugural Lutruwita Live set to rock Hobart this December

A new one-day festival is set to light up The Goods Shed on Hobart’s waterfront on Friday, December 19th with Lutruwita Live unleashing Wolfmother and Kingswood as headliners with support from local legends Lennon Wells, the up-and-coming Spooky Eyes, neo-R&B powerhouse Tai Harlii and the genre-bending funsters, Ekidna.

Wolfmother are celebrating 20 years since the release of their iconic debut album, a long-player which shot them to international stardom, and which is widely recognised as one of the finest debuts in Australian rock history.

Melbourne’s award-winning Kingswood will bring their hard-working ethos to the stage as they continue to ride the crest of a hectic touring schedule following on from their ‘Hometowns Tour’ which took in over 100 shows around the country.

Tasmanian locals, Ekidna, Lennon Wells, Spooky Eyes and Tai Harlii round out what should be a super day of entertainment.

Set within The Goods Shed, the event will transform the industrial space into a full-scale rock arena — complete with massive production, food trucks, and bars for one night only.

Festival organiser Luke Tucker said the response has been overwhelming, with first and second release tickets selling out within days.

“We’ve been blown away by how quickly people have jumped on board,” Tucker said. “It’s clear there’s a real appetite for live rock events in Tasmania, and to launch Lutruwita Live with such an incredible all-Australian line-up feels really special. We want this to be the start of something big for the local scene.”

With only final release tickets remaining, organisers are urging fans not to miss their chance to be part of the very first Lutruwita Live.

Tickets are on sale now at www.lutruwitalive.com.au
