London-based singer-songwriter John Tibbits releases the warming new EP, ‘Light of the Flame.’ Packed with emotional depth and musical innovation, this collection of tracks is set to captivate audiences and solidify Tibbits’ place in the music scene. The EP’s lead single, ‘Our Moment,’ has already garnered significant praise, hinting at the sonic journey that awaits listeners throughout the record.

Tibbits’ masterful blend of vocals and guitar shines on stripped-back offerings like ‘Make What You Will,’ showcasing his ability to evoke powerful emotions through his music. However, the EP also demonstrates Tibbits’ versatility as an artist, as seen in the title track, ‘Light of the Flame.’ Here, he seamlessly fuses electronic elements with acoustic sounds, resulting in a captivating and irresistible sonic experience.

Beyond its musical allure, ‘Light of the Flame’ aims to forge a deep connection with its audience through its diverse and relatable lyrics. Tibbits delves into themes of relationships, friendships, and the mundane routines of white-collar working life, providing a poignant reflection of the human experience.

Born and raised in the deprived neighborhood of Northfield, south Birmingham, John Tibbits hails from a family of musicians. Writing his first songs at the age of 14, he embarked on a musical journey that eventually led him to London, where he spent the past four years working in a white-collar job. It is through this experience that Tibbits draws inspiration for his lyrics, addressing the banalities of modern life, romance, political cynicism, and his undying passion for music.

What sets Tibbits apart is his ability to seamlessly blend old and new sounds. Influenced by artists such as Roy Harper, Declan O’Rourke, and Frank Turner, he has carved out a unique and signature style that combines folk blueprints with alternative music tones. This fusion creates a captivating and fresh sound that resonates with audiences, resulting in a rapidly growing fanbase and industry support.

With ‘Light of the Flame,’ John Tibbits is poised to make a significant impact in 2023 and beyond. His melodically engaging EP, paired with thought-provoking lyrics and his undeniable talent, is set to leave a lasting impression on music lovers worldwide. Keep an eye out for this rising star as he continues to shine in the ever-evolving music landscape.

Speaking about the EP, John explains: “This is a record that captures an array of themes: growing up (Stupid and Dumb), romance (Find the Key), political cynicism (Light of the flame), a passion for music (Our Moment) and embracing life (Make what you will). Me and Jak (my producer) had a lot of fun recording the EP, and allowed ourselves to experiment with different sounds, especially on Light of the Flame.”
