Chicago-born R&B/soul artist itoldLexi has today released her brand new single, the self-assured and sultry Get It Right. The track showcases Lexi’s captivating vocals and silky harmonies, which are complemented by the yearning lyrics. The outro hears Lexi at her most vulnerable, and perfectly encapsulates her dynamic range accompanied only by piano.
Lexi has said of the track, “For most, breakups are never clean cut and easy and this one is no different. Get It Right is a song about cheating, backsliding, third parties and lying. Imagine finding out your ex was cheating on you with an old friend, then circled back to try and win your heart back, but the entire time they were dating the new girl… the one they cheated with. It’s a circle conversation and an unwarranted love triangle highlighting that, whether we are together or not, we simply just cannot get it right.”
2019 saw Lexi release her debut EP, With Love, Lexi. This was a big year for the singer, not only did she graduate from Berklee, she also released some of her most popular music to date, namely Just Breathe, and Favorite Type. As a newly independent artist, Lexi’s most recent tracks include For You and Balance, which were both released earlier this year.
