News: Slomosa announce first Australian tour for May 2026

Norwegian quartet Slomosa announce their first ever Australian tour, bringing their heavy, groove-led take on modern rock to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in May 2026. Hailing from the western reaches of Norway, the band have carved out a distinctive lane they call “Tundra Rock” – a sound that balances the weight of stoner and desert rock with melodic grunge instincts shaped by cold landscapes and long nights.

Formed by Benjamin Berdous (guitar, vocals), Marie Moe (bass, vocals), Tor Erik Bye (guitar) and Jard Hole (drums), Slomosa draw from the lineage of Kyuss, Elder and Black Sabbath, but temper those influences with an economy that keeps their songs focused and physical rather than sprawling. Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2020, the band have built a reputation for live shows that prioritise momentum, groove and sheer volume.

That reputation has carried them onto major festival stages including Hellfest, Freak Valley and Bergen Fest, while earning support slots with heavyweights such as Mastodon, Helmet and Alkaline Trio. In 2023, the release of Cabin Feversignalled a tightening of their songwriting, pairing gritty narratives with riffs designed to land hard rather than drift.

Slomosa’s momentum continued in 2024 with a U.S. tour alongside Alkaline Trio, followed by further international dates that cemented their standing as a band built for rooms that reward physical sound. Their upcoming Australian run marks the next step in that steady ascent, offering local audiences a first chance to experience their Tundra Rock ethos at full volume.
