Mistletone has announced the return of Ty Segall, the cult American rocker whose live shows are as unhinged as they are transcendent. He’ll hit Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Monday, March 2, backed by his band of sonic conspirators — Emmett Kelly, Mikal Cronin, Evan Burrows and Benjamin Boye. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am.

With his latest album Possession (Drag City) tearing up airwaves, Segall once again proves he’s rock’s most fearless shapeshifter. Over the past decade, he’s ricocheted between glam, garage, psych, punk, and experimental noise — sometimes all within the same record. Possession, his sixteenth solo LP, sharpens that chaos into something dazzling: a high-voltage hybrid of classic rock power and strange, noirish beauty.

Known for turning live venues into fevered sanctuaries, Segall’s 2025 Australian return includes a stop at Golden Plains Festival, but it’s the intimate Metro Theatre gig that promises the full heat of his current creative wave. Expect a set that fuses fuzzed-out riffs, twisted hooks, and raw propulsion — the kind that makes the floorboards shake and the faithful lose their minds.
