Matteo DeBenedetti looks like he’s just realised his album’s out tomorrow, but there’s no need for him to be nervous because we’ve heard it and it’s very good indeed. So good, in fact, that we’re premiering it up front! The New Jersey-based Charlie & Margot is just him – if you didn’t know, the project’s named for the dogs belonging to him and his wife.
We premiered the album’s recent single ‘sleeping’ a month ago, and if you’re into stuff like Ruston Kelly (with whom DeBenedetti shares a release day), Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit or Dawes, you’ll be all over Joyride, which has a similar indie rock/alt-country thing going on. You should definitely scoop it up on Bandcamp Friday, which coincidentally is tomorrow. Before then, though, you can hear the whole thing a day early. Highly recommended, get into it below:
