Brussels man Rodolphe Coster has been on the go for a while; first as part of Flexa Lyndo, then as a multidisciplinary artist. Music remains his first love, however – as someone who’s supported everyone from Liars to Italia 90 and Thee Oh Sees/OCS/Oh Sees etc. He’s in it for the long haul. Speaking of the latter band, Castle Face Records co-owner Matt Jones played on his new record.

The first to be released under his own name as Rodolphe Coster and Band, High With the People has an impressive cast assembled, including Jones, Jeff Tobias of Sunwatchers & Maya Postepski of Austra and The Organ.

Coster’s new single ‘Dolls Their Maps’ is a fuzzy garage/psych-rock hybrid; authoritative drums and bass guide the verses before everything explodes into a cathartic chorus that seems to come out of nowhere. It’s a fantastic example of tension and release – out tomorrow as the final single from the record, which follows on Friday via Capitane Records, you can stream it first with us below. Play it loud.
