‘It’s Good to be Alive’ is the second single from Detroit’s Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapour forthcoming LP Good Goddamn and Backseat Mafia is pleased to bring you the premiere.
The song comes crashing in with pounding drums and fuzzy guitars reminiscent of the band’s hometown heroes, the Stooges. The song effortlessly swings from a wall of fuzz into a melancholy but soothing groove with the lyrics “It’s good to be alive” echoing in your ears. These stark and unconventional changes are as natural to SOYSV as their use of trippy effects and memorable melodies. The well-crafted sound that is very much their own, is the perfect soundscape for an emotionally manic story that continues through the entirety of the record.
