Drake has revealed a new video for his recent single God’s Plan, which along with another track Diplomatic Immunity was released as part of of his ongoing Scary Hours project. It’s pop/hip-hop at its best, with Drakes drawl backed with fizzing percussion and laid back grooves.
It’s the video that’s really life-affirming. Charged with a budget of near on a million dollars, Drake spends the video giving it away around Miami. As the text at the beginning of the video says, “The budget for this video was $996,631.90. We gave it all away. Don’t tell the label.” He proceeds to give bundles of notes away to needy people, donates to schools and organisations, pays for shopping, give away vehicles and generally makes a whole load of peoples live that little bit better, before telling tearful recipients to look after their mothers. Drake always does things in a big way, so you’ll currently find the video breaking the internet right now.
Describing it as ‘The most important thing I have ever done in my career’, it actually even brings lumps to the throat of old cynics like us here at backseat mafia. Well done that man.
