Halifax, Nova Scotian quartet Like A Motorcycle have returned with a new track, wide awake, taken from their upcoming album Dead Broke. Of the track, the band say “Wide Awake is about waking up between a past stained with unhealthy choices and a future of bleak dystopian uncertainty. Although the song was written some time ago, it’s sentiment rings true now more than ever. Where do we go when leaving the past means potentially losing everything we’ve worked for? Can we break vicious cycles and bad habits without losing the people and things that comfort us? How does change and its uncertainty make us feel?”
Wife Awake is this angst filled punk/pop-punk gem, all driving rhythms and a feeling of building animosity and anxiety during the verse which get this rather brilliant release in the chorus, which blasts through, powered with singalong melodies and attitude thats irresirstable.
