Although the album ‘Kiss, Cuddle & Torture Vol. 2’ has been postponed until June 12th, British mash-up reggae group The Hempolics have released a new video for ‘Gotta Thing’, taken from it.
According to GrippaLaybourne, the bands mainman and producer, Gotta Thing is “…“a fast hip-hop house track laced with classic Hempolics’ reggae flavours, the track features Miami rapper Cojack who I linked up with and invited to record the track in my mum’s front room whilst he was in the UK playing basketball for the Tees Valley Mohawks.”
It has this gloriously catchy hook about ‘Gotta Thing’, the dub and reggae feel bleeding into this bouncing hip-hop beat to create something impossible not to go along with. Check out the band performing the track in the new video, here
