The Raptors sink their teeth into a tour of their hometown in the video for latest single ‘Your Dreams’.

This Glasgow-based four-piece were formed by Becca Murray (guitar and lead vocals) and Jane Lloyd (guitar and vocals) who were then joined by Jack Mata (drums) and Juana Adcock (bass and vocals). Latest single ‘Your Dreams’ sees them proudly wearing their inspiration on their leather sleeves – it’s a fun and ferocious throwback to 1970s rock n roll. Their music has all the spikiness and raw DIY sound of the best punk rock bands old and new – Ex Hex spring to mind from recent times. It’s Murray’s vocals that add a uniquely smoky, soulful depth – imagine if The Ramones were fronted by Cher.

In the video for ‘Your Dreams’ (watch below) – filmed, edited and directed by Keith Gerrard – The Raptors take us on a tour of Glasgow including a trip on the Subway. It’s one of those videos where you want to join them, even it is just to wander about town looking cool.

‘Your Dreams’ forms half of a double release alongside ‘It’s You’ and both can be listened to via the usual digital channels. This follows last years double single (‘Death Becomes Her’/‘Teen Witch’) and a Christmas song (‘It’s Christmas (Have a Rock N Roll time)’), which was released via Manchester label Cherryade records. You can also catch them live around the UK (dates below).

‘Your Dreams’ proves that The Raptors are well worth keeping an eye on. They are a pack with plenty of bite.

The Raptors’ upcoming shows:

31 May – Leith Depot, Edinburgh
14 June – Old Hairdressers, Glasgow
20 June – Beat Generator, Dundee
27 July – Midnight Breakfast Club, Bathgate
31 July – Hug & Pint (with The Avengers), Glasgow
14 September – Scottish Honky Tonk, Isle of Bute
18th October – Trash Shack @ The Black Bull, Gateshead
