Scruffy Bear has returned with news of their forthcoming EP, ‘Good Intentions Of A Grumpy Sun,’ which is due for release on September 6th, 2024. The EP includes previous single, ‘Selfish Dreamer‘ and new single Pity Party

You can pre order physical copies of the EP and merch bundles on their webstore or pre save the EP digitally on streaming platforms.

In regards to where the band came up with the video’s concept, Vocalist Georgy comments,

“To us, ‘Pity Party’ has always had an “alien fiesta” sort of vibe, so we decided to really embrace that for the music video. We didn’t want the video to be a “damsel in distress” situation and really loved the idea of the 60s/70s Sci Fi Barbarella theme. This was such a fun video to film & create! .”

“The song ‘Pity Party’ is about feeling frustrated with someone always feeling sorry for themselves, so I like to think of the aliens as those feelings and the alien hunter trying to shoot them down and get them to come round to the idea of gratitude & only getting to live one life.”

And in regards to using their local area for some of the scenes,

“We had so much fun terrorising the local town with the aliens and we were lucky enough to use the incredible Number Eight Bakehouse & Forum Music Centre in Darlington to get some great shots of the aliens trying to experience being humans.”

Chuck-full of Scruffy Bear brilliance, ‘Pity Party’ sees Georgy release those powerful vocals to great effect over the tight blues rock from the band. With a thunderous start and a drip of the psyche to the riffing, its a powerful explosion of blues rock thats still very much a Scruffy Bear classic.
