Melbourne mammoths The Last Martyr have established themselves as a vivacious force in the Australian heavy community. The latest single ‘Freaking Out’ shows them at new heights, continuing their effortless streak of releases that just keep hitting the mark.

Lead by their fearless queen of a vocalist, Monica Strut, ‘Freaking Out’ unleashes hellbent fury through a topography of evocative verses, permeated with driven guitars and stimulating melodies, before hurling into an elevated ethereal chorus, while the underlying themes of the song discuss the risk of falling in love despite being quite fine on your own.

‘Freaking Out’ is the last single the band will be releasing before their forthcoming debut EP ‘Purgatory’ is released on December 10. Following hot on the heels of ‘Afterglow’ and ‘Hindsight’, this shows the band ascending towards a foreboding and threatening potential. The Last Martyr will be taking their heaviness to several large stages in Australia, with shows scheduled at Unify Gathering in January, Uncaged Festival in February, and Halloween Hysteria in April.

The single, available through all the usual download/streaming sites, comes off The Last Martyr’s forthcoming album ‘Purgatory’ out on 10 December 2021 – pre-orders available here and through the link below.
