Venus Furs is the moniker of Montreal’s Paul Kasner, and ahead of the release of his upcoming self-titled album, out on July 10th on his own Silk Screaming Records he’s released a new single ‘Page Before’.
Of the track, Kasner says “This song is meaningful to me because it’s been closing my live sets for the last few years, something I can’t wait to be doing again. It’s also the last song on my upcoming debut album, and as such I’m thrilled that it’s the first to announce the album’s release date”,
Telling the tale of walking into a party with a weird vibe, only to discover you are walking into your own wake, Page Before is full of dirty riffs and attitude. It rolls through an indie rock landscape, laying down lasting melodies and chorus’s, before it breaks apart with this rumbling bassline heralding a build up to an incredible extended wig out, guitars and feedback and noise all bleeding together to leave you breathless.
