Things in the Steel City of Sheffield are happening right now, and nothing happening quite as brightly (as far as we’re concerned anyway) than Via Holland, aka Angela Holland. After years playing in bands in the city, she’s stepped out on her own and this, her second single, is out now.
It’s smoky, almost arid in its musical outlook, hinting at post-punk here and almost lounge like there, sugared with Hollands delicious half spoken vocals telling the story of a late night encounter. Its elegant and immediate and cool, in other words – frankly brilliant. Fall in love with it below
