Wollongong’s Drift have just released an anthemic track entitled ‘Fade Away’, which channels a little antipodean slacker surf elements with a more muscular Dinosaur Jnr vibe. But it’s not just a monochrome delivery – it is replete with a little quite/loud ethic and even a detour to a death metal throaty roar in the outro: an element of visceral defiance. It’s fresh and innovative fare with the thunder of the ocean waves that pound the beautiful south coast of NSW.

According to frontman Callum McCombie:

‘Fade Away’ captures the essence of everything aligning—thanks to strong mental health, a supportive network, and a new relationship. It’s a heartfelt farewell to past struggles, embracing a future filled with optimism.

The result is something that is heartfelt and passionate:

‘Fade Away’ is out today through Broken Jar Records and available to stream and download here.
